Am 5. Mai
2001 kürte die internationale Jury, bestehend aus Dr.Grazina Arlickaite
(Dokumentarfilmwissenschaftlerin/Vilnius), Dr.Heike Hurst (Journalistin/Paris),
Brigitte Schroedter (Redakteurin/München), Phillip N. Bergson (Kritiker/London)
und Antoine Cattin (Filmhistoriker/Lausanne), aus dem Wettbewerbsprogramm
von 23 Dokumentarfilmen folgende Preisträger:
Der Preis
DER BESONDERE DOKUMENTARFILM, gestiftet von der Firma Licht & Ton
und dem Festival, dotiert mit 5.000 DM, geht an RIBEN GUIZI (Japan
2001) von Minoru Matsui.
Der DOKUMENTARFILMPREIS
DES BAYERISCHEN RUNDFUNKS, in Höhe von 20.000 DM, geht an DE DROOM
VAN DE BEER (Holland 2000) von Cherry Duyns.
Eine lobende
Erwähnung erhalten:
Die Festivalleiterin GUDRUN GEYER für ihr Engagement und ihr
Verdienst, Dokumentarfilme aus der ganzen Welt nach München gebracht
zu haben,
und
das PUBLIKUM DES 16. INTERNATIONALEN DOKUMENTARFILMFESTIVALS MÜNCHEN,
das bei schönstem Wetter und bis spät in die Nacht bewiesen
hat, dass das Festival zu den fest eingeplanten Kulturereignissen der
Stadt München gehört und weiterbestehen muss.
Den PLANET-ZUSCHAUERPREIS
in Höhe von 5.000 DM, vergaben Susanne Spurfeld, Bianca Weidinger,
Peter Grett, Hartmut Mammen und Nikolaus Seneschi an TO SPITI TOU KAIN
(Griechenland 2000) von Christos Karakepelis.
Eine lobende Erwähnung ging an VIVRE APRÈS - PAROLES DE
FEMMES (Frankreich 2000) von Laurent Bécue-Renard
Den FÖRDERPREIS
DOKUMENTARFILM DES FILMFERNSEHFONDS BAYERN dotiert mit DM 10.000 vergaben
Stefanie Sychold (Filmemacherin, letztjährige Preisträgerin),
Martin Choroba (Geschäftsführer Tellux Film GmbH) und Andreas
Ströhl (Filmreferent Goethe-Institut Inter Nationes), zum ersten
Mal ungeteilt, an: ANONYM (Deutschland 2000) von Alexandra Gulea.
Der FERNSEHPREIS
"LiteraVision 2001"
Georg Seeßlen (Filmkritiker), Dr. Hajo Steinert (Deutschlandfunk),
Markus Brauck (Frankfurter Rundschau), Klaudia Brunst (Publizistin), Ursula
März (Literaturkritikerin), Susanne Brand und Ralf Zöller (beide
Preisträger 2000) vergaben zwei Preise in Höhe von jeweils DM
10.000 für beispielhafte Fernsehbeiträge über literarische
Themen und Autoren.
In der Sparte "Autorenporträts" an
VERBRECHEN IN FLORENZ - DIE SCHRIFTSTELLERIN MAGDALEN NABB
von Peter Goedel.
Eine lobende Erwähnung ging an
STILLE REBELLEN - BÜRGERMUT GEGEN NAZITERROR. EIN TREFFEN IN BERLIN
von Ulrich Harbecke.
In der Sparte "Magazinbeiträge" an
Klaudia Kucza für ihren Beitrag über das Buch "FRAU
SARTORIS" von Elke Schmitter.
Mit einer ehrenden Anerkennung wurde
Frank Hertweck bedacht für seinen Kurzfilm über MARTIN
HEIDEGGER.

The Awards
On 5 May
2001 the winners of the documentary film awards of the 16th International
Documentary Film Festival were announced.
The international jury, consisting of Dr. Grazina Arlickaite (documentary
film scholar / Vilnius), Dr. Heike Hurst (journalist / Paris), Brigitte
Schroedter (TV producer / Munich), Phillip N. Bergson (critic / Lausanne)
and Antoine Cattin (film historian / Lausanne), presented the following
awards:
The SPECIAL
DOCUMENTARY FILM award, sponsored by the film equipment rental company
Licht & Ton and the festival, with DM 5,000 prize money, goes to:
RIBEN GUIZI (Japan, 2001) by Minoru Matsui.
The DOCUMENTARY
FILM PRIZE of the Bavarian television corporation Bayerischer Rundfunk,
with DM 20,000 prize money, goes to: DE DROOM VAN DE BEER (Netherlands,
2000) by Cherry Duyns.
The Jury's
honorable mention goes to:
Festival director GUDRUN GEYER for her commitment and achievement
in bringing to Munich documentary films from all over the world,
and
the AUDIENCE OF THE 16TH INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL
for proving, during lovely weather and late into the night, that the Festival
is one of the fixed events on Munich's cultural calander and therefore
must live on.
The PLANET
AUDIENCE AWARD sponsored by the documentary TV channel Planet, with DM
20,000 prize money, goes to: TO SPITI TOU KAIN (Greece, 2000) by
Christos Karakepelis.
The Planet Jury, consisting of Susanne Spurfeld, Bianca Weidinger, Peter
Grett, Hartmut Mammen and Nikolaus Seneschi also gave an honorable mention
to VIVRE APRÈS - PAROLES DE FEMMES (France, 2000) by Laurent
Bécue-Renard.
The winner
of the SPECIAL PRIZE of the Bavarian film and television fund Filmfernsehfonds
Bayern, with DM 10,000 prize money, was selected by Stefanie Sychold (filmmaker,
recipient of last year's prize), Martin Choroba (Manager of Tellux Film
GmbH) and Andreas Ströhl (film expert for the Goethe Institute Inter
Nationes). For the first time, the prize goes to a single film: ANONYM
(Germany, 2000) by Alexandra Gulea.
The TELEVISION
AWARD "LiteraVision 2001"
Georg Seeßlen (film critic), Dr. Hajo Steinert (Deutschlandfunk),
Markus Brauck (Frankfurter Rundschau), Klaudia Brunst (publicist), Ursula
März (literary critic), Susanne Brand and Ralf Zöller (the recipients
of last year's award) presented two awards, worth DM 10,000 each, for
exemplary television productions dealing with literary topics and authors.
In the section "Author Portraits", the award goes to:
VERBRECHEN IN FLORENZ - DIE SCHRIFTSTELLERIN MAGDALEN NABB (CRIMES
IN FLORENCE - THE WRITER MAGDALEN NABB) by Peter Goedel.
An honorable mention goes to
STILLE REBELLEN - BÜRGERMUT GEGEN NAZITERROR. EIN TREFFEN IN BERLIN
(SILENT REBELS - CIVIL COURAGE AGAINST NAZI TERROR. A MEETING IN BERLIN)
by Ulrich Harbecke.
In the section "Magazine Programs", the award goes to:
Klaudia Kucza for her production about the book FRAU SARTORIS (MS.
SARTORIS) by Elke Schmitter.
An honorable mention goes to Frank Hartweck for his short film
