»Nelly, die pensio­nierte Brief­botin, fährt ihre alten Runden ab, an verlas­senen Gehöften und zerfal­lenden Dörfern vorbei. Sie trifft alte Bekannte, denen sie jahr­zehn­te­lang die Post gebracht hat, hört sich ihre Probleme an. Doch in Nelly steckt nicht nur die Land­brief­trä­gerin: Vor Jahren spielte sie die Haupt­rolle in einem estni­schen Film – was ihr landauf landab Ruhm, in ihrer Nach­bar­schaft jedoch einen etwas zwei­fel­haften Ruf einbrachte.

Docu­men­tary road-movie of a retired postman Nelli who takes out the bicycle from her mail-carrying days and starts off on her old mail route through dying villages to meet people and to hear about their problems…
The film-makers are tried to perpe­tuate the strange atmo­s­phere in that, abandoned by the God, coun­try­side where never any of officials of the European Community, even not to speak of headman of a village community, don’t find them­selves. Who really likes to research the problems of the grass-blade level at our time…

Enn Säde

Geboren 1938 in Pärnu in einer Schrei­n­er­fa­milie. Schul­aus­bil­dung in Pärnu. 1961 Studium am Lenin­grader Institut für Film-Inge­nieurs­wesen. 1961-79 Tonin­ge­nieurin und Tonmeis­terin am Film­studio ›Tallinn­film‹, Seit 1978 Arbeit als Regis­seurin von Doku­men­tar­filmen.
