Milan hält auf der kleinen Insel Finera vor der kroa­ti­schen Küste einige Kühe. Er liebt sie von ganzem Herzen und kommt regel­mäßig vom Festland herüber, um sie zu versorgen. Doch die Zeiten haben sich geändert: Milans Frau will, dass einige der Tiere verkauft werden, damit das Haus auf dem Festland, das sie an Touristen vermieten will, repariert werden kann. Nachdem Milan unglück­li­cher­weise eine seiner Kühe beim Transport ertränkt, wird klar: Die Zeiten verändern sich nun mal und Milan wird auch nicht jünger..

On the small island of Finera off the Croatian coast, their owner Milan may come over from the mainland and love his cows with all his heart. But times have changed: Milan’s wife Silvana feels that he should sell the cows and pay more attention to the house on the island. It needs fixing, so it can be rented to tourists. In the parallel edit, the grumbling and complai­ning Silvana is juxt­a­posed to the quiet Milan, endlessly working with his cows. With the unfor­t­u­nate death by drowning of one of the cows, the tide seems to turn. You cannot stop the times from changing, and Milan is also getting on in years.
